Mei Ling is very attractive in an exotic way. Tall, willowy, lithe, she exudes sensuality and personality. Men want to win her favor, and women want to not be seen next to her. It's difficult to pick out her best feature: her hair is amazingly glossy and smooth, and always seems to frame her face and figure in the most advantageous way, if one is not careful, they can sink into her eyes, and the way she moves is all class and poetry combined with the promise of something wicked and wonderful. She is unfailingly polite and well-spoken, and her words seem to carry more than their initial meaning..Often smiling and laughing, she seems a fun-loving, but deep individual. Peeking out from her clothes are the edges of what appears to be an extensive and beautiful tattoo of cherry branches/blossoms, both front and back, up and down - seemingly everywhere at the edges of her clothing. Acquaintances have spent many idle moments, it has been said, speculating just how extensive those blossoms are. Her scent is of cherry blossoms, as well, undoubtedly some very exclusive perfume that is beguiling in it's subtle fragrant beauty. She is in fact, in a word, beguiling. Or intriguing. Or mesmerizing. No, one word can't do it.
Mei Ling looks very similar to other Lost as she does to the cattle who more numerously populate this world. In truth, her eyes are unusually large, like the way people draw children to make them especially endearing. They are still jet-colored and almond shaped, but the pupil is a vertical slit, like a cat's eyes. This is less than obvious, since the jet-black iris blends with the pupil so well. Her eyes sparkle with life, and an occasional flash of green - a trick of the light, no doubt. Her neck is slightly longer than it appears in the Masque, the way aristocratic ladies used to be painted to accentuate their beauty. Her hair is longer than it seems in the Masque, and if watched carefully, it can be seen to actually move on it's own to best frame her. Her general poise and litheness is otherworldly. In her Mien, she is among the most human-looking Lost to be found, but her beauty and grace go beyond exotic to almost alien, when seen without the Masque, if viewers can keep enough wits about them to analyze her. The tattoos of cherry blossoms are, of course, actually twigs and blossoms of flowering cherry trees that caress her skin. In the Mien, careful observers of her sans clothing, if they are able to concentrate long enough, can note a constant gentle sensual movement to the branches. Like Mei Ling's hair, they seem to be framing her to best advantage, and the movement itself is a promise of things worth trading much for.
Mei Ling is cultured, poised, unfailingly polite and well-spoken, but with a twinkle in her eye that betrays a joy of living and a love of excitement. She will often take little risks and actions for the thrill of it. She is fun-loving - one would have to be watching for a very long time to have a chance to notice that her risks are carefully calculated to succeed in some way, though not always the way one might think. She has a powerful personality, and is often at the center of events, if not always the attention - though she is often there as well. There is a darker, more assertive, even aggressive side to Mei Ling, and she is careful to control when that side is seen by others.
